Daniel Rivera for Council-At-large
Meet Daniel Rivera, a lifelong resident of Jersey City, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and former President of the Roberto Clemente LIttle League of Jersey City.
Daniel attended St. Peter’s College and is a health care professional. He currently works at Newark Beth Israel Hospital as a Research Clinic Coordinator. Daniel’s research has brought him to the Joslin Center for Diabetes in both adult and pediatric medicine. Additionally, he’s performed research in bone disease and lupus at the AutoImmune Center of New Jersey. He’s been highly regarded for his research and continues to be a contributor to the development for cures to some of society's most life-altering diseases.
Position
For the past 15 years, Daniel has been coaching in the Roberto Clemente Little League of Jersey City. As President and a coach, he’s worked with Jersey City’s youth at every level, teaching teamwork and sportsmanship. Daniel also coaches the Jersey City Bulldogs baseball team, consisting of players from freshman to varsity levels. Throughout his years, he’s devoted time to keeping the City’s kids off the streets and engaged in extracurricular activities. He’s volunteered his time to ensure our parks and open space are safe and well-maintained.
Above all, Daniel has strong family values. He’s been married to his wife, Neida, for 22 years and together they have four children -- Daniel, 21, and Kayla, 20, both attending New Jersey City University; Adrienne, 18, a senior, and Adam, 16, a sophomore, both at James J. Ferris High School.
Daniel is running for Council-At-Large because he cares about Jersey City and ensuring that other families have the same opportunity his family has had and to make Jersey City a better place to live, work and play.
