Diane Coleman for Ward F Council
Diane Coleman is a firm defender of Jersey City's neediest residents. As Founder and CEO of Building An Empire, Inc. located on MLK Drive, Diane Coleman has assisted over 8,000 residents with finding apartments, security deposits, paying back rent, making utility payments, job readiness and opportunities, as well as assisted with applying for vouchers for food, clothing and furniture. Diane is a lifelong resident of Jersey City, attended Lincoln High School, St. Peter’s College and the College of Pennsylvania.
Diane recently ran in the 2012 Special Election for Ward F Council and won resoundingly. As Ward F Councilwoman, she is expanding her efforts by using the power of City Hall to assist our families and believes that government services aren't about a ‘hand-out’, instead, they should be about a hand up to the neediest amongst us.
Diane has been widely recognized for her dedication to public service. She’s the recipient of the Glenn D. Cunningham Community Development Award, the Jersey City Police Department Appreciation Award, the Fleet Bank Small Business Leadership Award, and the 2012 Outstanding Organization Award from the NJ Federation of Colored Women’s Clubs, Inc.
Her brand of leadership spells passion. From her founding of Building An Empire, Inc., working as a former aide to Senator Bob Menendez, to being the former V.P. of the Urban League of Hudson County, Diane works relentlessly for the needs of the community and will continue to do so for all residents of Ward F.
