Joyce Watterman for Council-At-Large
Joyce Watterman was born, raised and educated in Jersey City. She graduated from William L. Dickinson High School and worked at the former Jersey City Medical Center for more than 13 years. Joyce is dedicated to making Jersey City a better place for all and currently works as a licensed realtor.
Joyce, along with her Husband, Reverend James Watterman founded Continuous Flow Christian Center in Jersey City, NJ, where they bring life changing words of strength for today and hope for tomorrow. Joyce has been married to her husband for 35 years, and is a mother of three and a loving grandmother.
Joyce attended Somerset Christian College with a Degree in Organizational Leadership and Biblical Studies. She is the founder of The H.O.P.E. Summer Program, which strives to establish safe and caring environments that allow individual and social growth for children. Joyce has been a volunteer at Rahway State Prison for more than 20 years and at Clinton State Prison for 8 years.
With a desire to make a difference, Joyce organized the formation of the Hudson County Chapter of the Women’s Political Caucus where she is the current President. Being active within the community, she is also a leader of Bergen Community United, member of the NAACP and Chaplin for the Hudson County Sheriff’s Department.
Through all her work, she has received several awards for her outstanding commitment to public service, including the Women Making History Award, Chosen Freeholder Recognition Award, Hudson County Executive Board Citation & the Dr. James J Burke Award.
Joyce lives by the motto “I’m here to help you become a better you”. With that motto in mind, Joyce is running for Jersey City Council-At-Large to make Jersey City a better city.
