Eddie Freeman III, Esq.

Eddie Freeman III, Esq. is a proud resident of Evesham Township and has served his community as a Councilman since 2021.

Born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas, Eddie is the middle child of three. After his parents’ divorce, he was raised by his hard-working single mother. In 2002, after graduating from high school, Eddie enlisted in the United States Army Reserve where he served for almost nine-and-a-half years. During that time he was deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan, and rose to the rank of Sergeant.

While in the military, Eddie decided to pursue his college education. He enrolled and graduated from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, earning a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology, with a minor in Spanish, all while working a full-time job. While enrolled at Oklahoma City University School of Law, he was elected the President of the school’s LGBT student organization.

Eddie began his legal career working as a Legal Service Attorney where he led outreach programs to the LGBTQ community educating them on available resources. He currently works as associate counsel for a Fortune 100 company.

Candidate Legislative District 33

Julio Marenco

Julio currently represents the 33rd legislative district in Trenton which consists of mostly northern Hudson County. He brings extensive government experience as His career experience includes working as the commissioner of revenue and finance for the Township of North Bergen and as the assistant director of the New Jersey Department of Corrections. Marenco served on the board of education, including in the role of president, and later was elected as a commissioner for North Bergen.

Julio Marenco grew up in Union City, New Jersey and is a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Marenco he earned a bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University and a J.D. from Seton Hall University.

Candidate Legislative District 31

Barbara McCann

Barbara McCann Stamato is a current Member of the New Jersey General Assembly for the 31st legislative district, having taken office on January 9, 2024 and she represents both Jersey City and Bayonne in a Trenton.

She is a life long resident of Jersey City, and has served on the New Jersey Democratic State Committee as well as on the Democratic organizations in Hudson County in senior positions. Barbara has extensive government experience as previously she served as an aide to General Assembly members Louis Manzo and Caridad Rodriguez, and in the office of Jersey City council member Yousef J. Saleh.

Barbara currently Serves on legislative committees focused on Community Development and Women’s Affairs , Regulated Professions (ARP) and Transportation and Independent Authorities (ATR).

Candidate Legislative District 32

Jessica Ramirez

Jessica Ramirez is a trial attorney specializing in serious personal injury, sexual abuse, medical device and product liability litigation. She has represented the 32nd Legislative District in the NJ State Assembly since 2024 which consists of Hoboken and Jersey City.

Jessica’s main passion is advocating for clients who have suffered sexual assault. She has extensive settlement and litigation experience in this area. Jessica works to seek justice and hold offenders accountable when schools, churches, hotels, jails and other organizations fail to protect children and vulnerable adults. She is persistent in holding abusers accountable for the harm they have caused victims.

She has served on the New Jersey Ethics Committee and served as an Eminent Domain Commissioner for the State of N.J., presiding over cases dealing with condemnation and eminent domain.

Jessica’s legal career has allowed her to serve her community and the underrepresented. Her work as a contract attorney for the Public Defender’s Office of New Jersey allowed her to represent indigent clients and juveniles.

Jessica was born in Puerto Rico and moved to New Jersey when she was eight years old. Jessica’s parents worked very hard to provide her with opportunities that they were not so fortunate to have had. Jessica earned her Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law and has a Bachelor of Arts from Stockton University, with a Major in Political Science and a Minor in Latin American History.

Candidate Legislative District 32

John Allen

John currently represents the 32nd Legislative District in the State Assembly since 2024 which includes Hoboken and Jersey City. He is currently a practicing attorney with Schenck Price, and prior to rejoining the firm John Allen served as Chief of Staff for the City of Hoboken under Mayors Dawn Zimmer and Ravi Bhalla.

As Chief of Staff, John was responsible for the management of all aspects of municipal government, including economic development, emergency services, redevelopment, legal affairs, and labor negotiations. Serving as a strategic advisor to two of New Jersey’s more prominent mayors, John has developed an extensive network of contacts in both public and private sectors throughout the State. John formerly worked for the City of Hoboken in the Office of Corporation Counsel where he previously served as Alcohol Beverage Control Commission board attorney.

He now focuses his legal practice on land use, redevelopment, employment law, liquor licensing, governmental affairs, and municipal litigation. This experience has provided a unique opportunity for John to partner with his clients as they navigate complex projects and to provide prudent counsel to achieve client goals.

John also serves on a number of public bodies including as Commissioner for the Hudson County Planning Board and Commissioner for the Garden State Joint Insurance Fund. In addition, John sits on the board of directors of Easter Seals New Jersey, one of the State’s oldest and largest charities empowering individuals with disabilities, and of the Citizen’s Campaign, a non-profit dedicated to encouraging civic engagement through education.

Brian K. Everett

Brian K. Everett resides in Gloucester Township within the Glendora section of town.
For 27 years he lived and learned in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, with his parents and sister. As a graduate of Cherry Hill High School West, he went on to study at Rutgers University – Camden where he has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and in Urban Studies, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Brian is currently finishing his PhD in Community Development at Rutgers-Camden, focusing on modern political machines.
 
Brian works full-time at Rutgers University – Camden as an assistant dean within the Honors College, primarily serving as an academic advisor for undergraduate students. He is a proud member of URA-AFT, the Union of Rutgers Administrators, and was elected by his union sisters and brothers as a 2024 AFT Convention Delegate. During the 2024 Convention, the AFT became the first union to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States.
 
Brian is bilingual in English and Spanish, and is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. He has been celebrated by InsiderNJ’s Out 100 Power Ranking for influential members of the LGBTQ+ community in New Jersey for several years. He looks forward to advocating for greater transparency in state and local government, and finding meaningful ways to reduce barriers to employment and higher education.

Daniel Park
Daniel Park has represented the Borough of Tenafly as a Councilmember since 2014. He got involved in local politics since 2012 and is the first Korean-American Council member in Tenafly. He has served on the Police Commission, liasion to Volunteer Ambulance and Fire Department, Municipal Alliance and Environmental Commission. He helped grow and create programs within he borough for the residents. Park graduated from Rutgers University.

Tamar Warburg

Tamar D. Warburg of Teaneck is an attorney dedicated to serving New Jersey’s 37th Legislative District, where she was raised and is now raising her own family. Tamar’s parents have lived in Englewood for the past 35 years, where they raised Tamar and her four sisters. Tamar is a graduate of The Moriah School of Englewood, The Frisch School, and Yeshiva University’s Stern College for Women and Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Following her graduation from law school in 2008, Tamar spent 11 years practicing trusts and estates law at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP. In 2019, Tamar left private practice to become General Counsel of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest NJ (“JCF”). At JCF, Tamar works on matters related to board governance, donor-advised funds, supporting organizations, endowment funds, and the organization’s Centennial Campaign. Tamar and her husband lived in the Bronx for several years before moving to Teaneck in 2015 to raise their children. They are the proud parents of five young children. Recently, Tamar was elected by her local district to the Democratic Committee of Bergen County. Tamar looks forward to serving and advocating for all residents of New Jersey’s 37th Legislative District in the Assembly.

Lisa Bonanno

Lisa Bonanno is an Atlantic County resident who understands what it’s like to punch a clock and care for a family. Years of nursing care in diverse neighborhoods showed her the complex nature of challenges for families and local businesses. She is committed to listening to all voices in the district and addressing their needs regardless of their political power. She began serving on her local school board during the pandemic and enjoys tackling issues in a way that fosters prosperity and health for all NJ residents. In addition to a 34-year nursing career, she is a small business owner, single mother of 5, and new grandmother.

Rashan Prailow

Rashan Prailow is an accomplished finance strategy consultant and public speaker dedicated to enhancing community well-being. As the founder of THINK Group, he focuses on financial literacy initiatives, collaborating with organizations such as the NJ Courts and Camden County College to expand his impact. In addition, as the steering committee co-chair of Lead Free New Jersey, Rashan advocates for public health by raising awareness about lead exposure. He holds an associate degeree in business from Camden County College, a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Pennsylvania, and a master of finance degree from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business. With a strong educational foundation and a passion for community service, Rashan is committed to inspiring positive change throughout New Jersey.

Frank Velez
Councilman Frank Vélez III is a lifelong resident of Belleville, New Jersey. Prior to his election to the Council, Frank served a full 3-year term on the Belleville Board of Education where he fought for special needs families, students, parents, and staff. As Councilman, Frank is working to strengthen recreation for children, families and seniors, stabilize taxes, invest in local business and deliver for everyday residents. Councilman Vélez has always been a consistent and accessible public servant, prioritizing the needs of families of all backgrounds and affiliations as an elected official. Frank Vélez believes that when we all work together, New Jersey can be a better place for all of us.

Brittany Claybrooks
Brittany Claybrooks, is a former Councilwoman in East Orange. She has also served as the Director of the Division of Planning for the City of Plainfield and the North Jersey Political Director for Congressman Andy Kim in his recent Senate Race.
Brittany received her Master’s degree in Urban Planning and Development from New York University and her Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management and Administration from Florida A&M University.

She has dedicated her career to public service and working in various government and public service institutions including the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice; The Florida of Department Health; the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation where she served in the office of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi; and Young Invincibles – a national nonprofit that helped negotiate portions of the Affordable Care Act and advocates on behalf of millennial Americans in the areas of higher education, health, economic development and young parents’ initiatives.

Ultimately, Brittany is guided by her faith and challenging upbringing in Detroit. She stands by the notion that it is the responsibility of the government to make people’s lives better and easier. She has remained unapologetic in her pursuit to help keep our public system accountable for doing its part and she seeks to continue empowering others to do the same!
