Barbara McCann Stamato is a current Member of the New Jersey General Assembly for the 31st legislative district, having taken office on January 9, 2024 and she represents both Jersey City and Bayonne in a Trenton. She is a life long resident of Jersey City, and has served on the New Jersey Democratic State Committee as well as on the Democratic organizations in Hudson County in senior positions. Barbara has extensive government experience as previously she served as an aide to General Assembly members Louis Manzo and Caridad Rodriguez, and in the office of Jersey City council member Yousef J. Saleh. Barbara currently Serves on legislative committees focused on Community Development and Women’s Affairs , Regulated Professions (ARP) and Transportation and Independent Authorities (ATR).
