Demarest Councilman David Jiang brings a unique blend of public service experience and business expertise to tackle challenges in Trenton. As the son of Chinese immigrants, he grew up with values of hard work, perseverance, and community service—principles that continue to shape his leadership today.
After 9/11, he left Wall Street in 2002, Jiang took a bold step to launch his own business. Over the past two decades, he has built and managed a multi-million-dollar enterprise, creating jobs and solving complex business challenges along the way.
Beyond his professional success, Jiang is deeply committed to community service. He serves on the board of the Community Chest of Bergen County, which has supported local charities for the past 90 years. He also previously served as a board member of CSC, which oversees the operation of the Bergen Chinese School in Tenafly, helping introduce Chinese language and culture to a broader audience.
In 2022, Jiang ran for Demarest Council and secured victory against long-standing incumbents, offering a fresh perspective and a results-driven approach. Since taking office, he has strengthened leadership within the police department, secured vital resources for firefighters, and prioritized public safety. As Chair of the Downtown Economic Redevelopment Committee, Jiang is leading efforts to revitalize the local economy, create jobs, and build a stronger future for New Jerseyans.
