Edison resident David Tingle served on active duty as a member of the United States Air Force until April of 2001, when he transitioned into the Reserves. He was mobilized after the September 11th attacks. He continued to serve in the Reserves as a Chief Master Sergeant, assigned as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 87th Security Forces Squadron at Joint Base McGuire Dix. Currently a Lieutenant of the Edison Police Department, Tingle is assigned to the Patrol Division as a Watch Commander with 22 years of service. Tingle’s desire to serve has made him a prominent figure in his own community, where he leads by example as the Commander of American Legion Father and Son Post 435, a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3117 and Edison Elks Lodge 2487, a crucial voice on Edison’s Veterans Committee, and the Vice President of the Edison Arts Society. With these experiences and a passion for public service, Tingle wants to foster transparency and trust in New Jersey.
